Dear Debra,
I lost my wife one year ago and I feel like I can’t move forward. I spend so much time in my rocking chair and at times I seem like I am emotionally paralyzed. I feel hopeless. Please give me some advice.

Dear Larry,
Losing a spouse is one of the most difficult passages a person needs to go through. It sounds like you are spending too much time alone. I recommend that you push yourself to spend time with your family and friends and be honest with them how you feel. It is important to seek the love of family and friends during this time. Also, you may want to join a bereavement group where you can freely express your feelings of loss with other widows & widowers. Grief needs to be fully fully expressed and processed. Let me know if I can be any additional help.
Take care!
